Weekly Photo Challenge: From Above (Crab Stew)

When I saw this week’s photo challenge, I realized I didn’t have any shots from directly above. I’ll spend this weekend trying to get a nice directly above shot.

In the meantime, here’s a close one:  it’s a dish from a Korean crab stew.

A whole crab is cooked in a stew with bean sprouts and other vegetables and spices. When it’s done cooking, each person is served a crab shell filled with crab meat, rice, and bean sprouts mixed together. You finish the shell and move on to the legs and vegetables.

If you’re in Los Angeles, I highly recommend trying it out. A great restaurant is Ondal 2 and the dish is called ‘Kkot-gae-tang’.
