Since I’ve gotten it, the GX1 is rarely used unfortunately… the IBIS, high-ISO capabilities, dynamic range, and colors just trump the GX1… Did I mention the 5-axis IBIS?? Oh man…
I have been eyeballing the OM-D to add to my kit. I had the opportunity to handle one recently and the AF is amazingly fast and the IQ from the reviews I have seen are fabulous.
There aren’t a lot of cameras that can compete with the OM-D on AF speed. The IQ supposedly matches the Nikon D7000 so only a full frame would beat it completely. Add the compact size and the aesthetics and I think it’s an obvious choice.
I used to shot with a panasonic but at some point I just had to get something “better” (don’t get me wrong!) Now I am just a few bucks short on a new nikon.. 😀 I*_planning on buying it in June though! *excited
The Panasonic was great, but I too upgraded to an Olympus OM-D. Unless you’re going full-frame Nikon D600 or D800, I would definitely consider it! It is considered on par with the D7100 on image quality, but is much smaller and lighter which makes it easier to carry around.
I use Canon cameras. I presently own a 30D and a 5D Mark ll. Love the lenses I use too. Problem is that once the camera bug bites you, you can’t find a cure. Enjoy your hobby!
I too use Canon…got a 600D but also use an old Pentax film SLR great combination 🙂 and u are so right…once the bug bites…its there for life 🙂 but oh boy does it hurt the wallet! Haha
Do you use the Om-d much?

Yes, it makes sense that the GX1 would fail to thrill. I gotta tell ya… you may have gas. Lol! 😀
I see that you own the OM-D E-M5 as well. I am adding your blog to my reader. Thank you for commenting on my early birthday present blog post.
